When several sources address the same event or issue, a source comparison can make agreements, differences and gaps easier to review without collapsing them into a single narrative.
Build the comparison around an issue
Identify the event, claim or question being compared, then reference each relevant source.
Record what each source supports
Summarize the relevant information and preserve the source reference, date and context needed to locate the original record.
Show corroboration and conflict separately
Agreement between sources and disagreement between sources are both useful analytical signals. Keep both visible.
Turn unresolved conflicts into follow-up
If additional records, interviews or verification could clarify the issue, create a trackable next action.
