Before an investigation report is finalized, a structured review can identify missing references, unresolved issues and inconsistencies between the report and the underlying case record.
Review scope and coverage
Confirm the report addresses the questions actually examined and identifies meaningful limitations or matters left outside scope.
Check source traceability
Material factual statements should point back to interviews, records or other documented sources rather than relying on unsupported narrative.
Reconcile chronology and findings
Check material dates, unresolved conflicts and whether the findings section accurately reflects the information summarized elsewhere.
Check open work
Identify pending records, unresolved leads or additional actions that should not disappear simply because a draft report exists.
