Investigation Quality Assurance Checklist: Review Case Records for Completeness and Consistency

An investigation quality assurance checklist provides a structured final or periodic review of the case record. The purpose is to identify missing, inconsistent or unfinished documentation before it becomes harder to reconstruct.

Review chronology and source references

Check whether material dates are traceable to supporting information and whether important conflicts or uncertainties remain visible.

Review leads and actions

Look for open work without owners, next steps or recorded outcomes.

Review interviews and records

Confirm interview status and document-review status are clear and resulting follow-up has been captured.

Review case status

Check that the current status, last activity, pending items and next review point are internally consistent.

For an integrated review workflow, see the CaseWorks Investigation & Case Management System.
