An investigation assignment tracker helps make responsibility visible when multiple cases or tasks are being managed at the same time.
Useful assignment fields
Consider case or task ID, description, assigned owner, assignment date, priority, current status, target date, last activity and next action.
Separate case ownership from individual tasks
A person may own the overall case while specific follow-up is assigned elsewhere. Track those responsibilities distinctly when needed.
Surface aging work
Last-activity and review dates can help identify assignments that have not moved recently.
Preserve reassignment history
When responsibility changes, retain enough history to understand when and why work moved rather than simply overwriting the previous owner.
See the CaseWorks Investigation & Case Management System for integrated ownership and action tracking.
